Videngine or Animaker?

Videngine is an Animaker alternative for one job: making many narrated videos from real pages, listings, products and data rows, each built from the item’s own photos in a coded brand template. For animated, character-led stories and whiteboard-style explainers built by hand in an editor, Animaker is plainly the better tool, and Videngine doesn’t try to compete. Choose by the material you start from and how many videos you need.

Deciding quickly. If a cartoon character needs to act out the story, use Animaker. If the video needs to show the real product, property or page, and there are hundreds of them, use Videngine.

What each one is

Animaker is an animation studio in the browser; Videngine is a rendering engine for video that repeats.

Animaker

Animaker describes itself as an online animation platform and says more than 35 million people use it. At its centre is a scene editor with more than 1,000 animation templates, a library of over 100 million stock assets and a character builder with adult, plus-size, kid and infant characters, lip-synced automatically to the voiceover. It also makes whiteboard videos in a hand-drawn doodle style, from more than 100 whiteboard templates, with characters that have 200+ actions and 20+ expressions.

Around the editor sit the features people search for as Animaker AI: a generator that drafts a video from a text prompt in styles such as 2D vector, 3D and cinematic, which you then refine with Advanced Edit; AI subtitles in 130+ languages; one-click translation; and Animaker Voice, a text-to-speech tool with more than 1,800 voices. It’s aimed at training, HR, marketing and internal communications teams, and at personal videos too. There’s an Animaker app for iOS; Android has a wish list rather than an app, and the help centre says animated characters aren’t yet supported in the iOS app.

Videngine

Videngine is a programmatic video engine built and run by Wall & Fifth. It turns a web page, a listing, a product, an article or a row of data into a finished, narrated, captioned MP4. It reads the source in a headless browser, writes a script and scene plan you can accept or edit, records the narration and renders scenes from templates written as code, with your typefaces, colours, logo and motion set once. The pictures are the source’s own photos and images; nothing is drawn or generated.

A sitemap, CSV or JSON file becomes a batch, one page or row per video, and each video is reviewed in the studio before it goes out. There are no characters, avatars or whiteboard drawings: the motion comes from type, cards and slow pan and zoom across photos. Videngine is launching soon; plans start at $79 a month.

Side by side

Animaker leads on animation, languages and resolution; Videngine leads on volume, accuracy to the source and delivery.

On voice, Animaker offers far more voices and languages. Videngine narrates in English and is built for accuracy rather than range; our note on AI voiceover for business video explains how pronunciation rules and caption timing work.

When Videngine is an Animaker alternative, and when it isn’t

Animaker wins whenever the video is a crafted animation; Videngine wins when the same format has to be repeated accurately across many sources.

JobBetter fitWhy

Explainers sit on both sides. A one-off animated explainer with characters belongs in Animaker. A library of explainers drawn from help articles, release notes and guides, each matching its source, suits Videngine; the guide to explainer videos made from your own writing covers that workflow.

Website publishing works for sites whose pages are HTML files in a GitHub repository, such as static sites on Vercel, Netlify, Cloudflare Pages or GitHub Pages. Framework-built sites aren’t supported yet.

What 250 videos a month looks like

At 250 videos a month the difference is less about price and more about who builds each video. Take 250 one-minute videos, each about a different product, listing or help article.

Animaker Pro or Enterprise
Custom Enterprise quote

Pro includes 30 watermark-free downloads a month and charges $10 for each extra one, so 250 would add $2,200 to the plan fee. Enterprise lists unlimited downloads at a custom price. Either way, each video is built in the editor.

Videngine Growth
$249 a month

250 finished videos, with the script, voice, captions and batch runs included. Re-renders of the same video are free, and seats and brands come with the plan.

Assumes 250 one-minute videos a month. Animaker download allowances and extra-download prices from its help centre on 10 October 2026; Animaker pricing for the same plan differed across its own pricing page, so plan prices are left out. Videngine at launch list price.

In Animaker, that month is 250 editor sessions: start from a template or an AI draft, swap in each item’s pictures and words, adjust the scenes and voice, then export. The AI draft saves time on each one, but we found no way to feed it a spreadsheet or a list of pages.

In Videngine, the same month runs like this:

  1. Pick the 250 pages from your sitemap, or upload a CSV or JSON file with one row per item.
  2. Set the brand once: typefaces, colours, logo, voice and pronunciation rules.
  3. Start the batch. Scripts, scene plans and renders queue and run unattended; a one-minute 1080p video typically renders in a few minutes.
  4. Review each video in the studio. Edit a line or a pronunciation and render again; the rebuild is saved as a new version beside the original.
  5. Deliver: download the MP4s, send them to your Google Drive folder, publish to YouTube, or commit each one to the page it came from.

Which should you choose?

Choose on the material and the count: invented scenes made one at a time point to Animaker; real items and pages in their hundreds point to Videngine.

Choose Animaker if

  • Your story needs characters, expressions and lip sync
  • You want a whiteboard or doodle-style explainer
  • Each video is a one-off worth crafting scene by scene
  • You need voices, subtitles or translation in many languages
  • You want 2K or 4K exports, or a free plan to start

Choose Videngine if

  • Every video should show the real item, from its own photos
  • You have hundreds of pages, products, listings or rows
  • Names, specs and prices must be stated and pronounced correctly
  • Someone signs off each video before it goes out
  • You want videos published back onto your own pages

Plenty of teams need both: Animaker for the brand story, Videngine for the catalogue. For other tools set side by side, see all our comparisons.

Questions

Is Videngine an Animaker alternative?

For making many narrated videos from pages, listings, products and data, yes. For character animation, whiteboard explainers and one-off animated videos built in an editor, no: Animaker is the better tool and Videngine doesn’t animate characters at all.

Is Animaker free?

Animaker has a free plan for creating and downloading animated videos, with a limited selection of premium assets and a watermark on exports. Watermark-free downloads come with paid plans: 5 a month on Basic, 10 on Starter and 30 on Pro, according to its help centre. Videngine has no free plan; plans start at $79 a month for 50 videos.

How much does Animaker cost for 250 videos a month?

Animaker counts watermark-free downloads rather than videos made. Pro includes 30 a month, extra downloads on Pro are $10 each according to its help centre, and Enterprise lists unlimited downloads at a custom price. Its pricing page showed different prices for the same plans on 10 October 2026, so check it before buying. Videngine’s Growth plan covers 250 finished videos for $249 a month.

Can Animaker AI make videos from a website or a spreadsheet?

Animaker’s AI video generator works from a text prompt, and its enterprise page describes turning documents, slides and scripts into training videos. We found no CSV import, batch creation or video API on its pricing, features or enterprise pages. Videngine starts from a URL, text, a CSV or a JSON payload and makes one video per page or row.

How does Animaker Voice compare with Videngine’s narration?

Animaker Voice is a text-to-speech tool with more than 1,800 voices across many languages, and five conversions a month can be downloaded free. Videngine narrates each video with a house voice, another synthetic voice chosen per brand or your own recording, follows a per-brand pronunciation lexicon, and narrates in English only. For range of languages, Animaker is ahead.
