Videngine or Creatomate?
Choose Creatomate if you have a developer or a no-code builder who wants full control of the template and is happy to wire up scripts, voices and data. Choose Videngine if you want narrated videos from your pages, products, listings or data without building that pipeline: the script, voice, captions, brand rules and review are part of the product.
Deciding quickly. Creatomate is a toolkit for building a video machine. Videngine is the machine, already set up for your type of business.
What each one is
Creatomate
Creatomate describes itself as a video and image creation API and a creative automation platform for developers and no-code users. You design a template in its editor, mark the fields that change, and fill them from an API call, a spreadsheet upload or a Zapier, Make or n8n flow. Each row of data becomes one output, and the same credits cover images as well as video.
Videngine
Videngine is a programmatic video engine, built and run by Wall & Fifth. Give it a web page, a listing, a product, an article or a row of CSV or JSON data and it writes the script, applies your pronunciation and phrasing rules, records the narration, transcribes captions from that audio and renders the source’s own photos, or images you supply, into scene templates written as code, with your brand set once.
Each video is reviewed in the studio before it goes out. Approved videos can be downloaded, sent to a Google Drive folder you own, published to a connected YouTube channel or committed to the page they came from on a static site kept in GitHub, with a caption track and VideoObject markup. There are no avatars and no generated footage. Videngine is launching soon; plans start at $79 a month.

What 250 videos a month costs
A retailer adding video to every new product, a publisher to every article or a dealer group to every listing might make 250 one-minute videos a month. Here’s what that looks like on each.
A one-minute 1080p video at 30 fps costs about 38 credits, so 250 need about 9,500: within the 10,000-credit Growth tier. Voice is billed separately by ElevenLabs or OpenAI, and scripts need another tool.
250 finished videos, with the script, voice, captions and batch runs included. Re-renders of the same video are free.

Questions
Is Videngine a Creatomate alternative?
If you’re using Creatomate to make narrated videos from pages, products, listings or data, yes: Videngine does the script, voice, captions, render and review in one place. If you use Creatomate for images, ad variants across many formats or inside your own product, it does things Videngine doesn’t.
Does Creatomate write video scripts?
Not as a built-in feature, according to its own documentation. Its tutorials generate scripts with ChatGPT inside an n8n workflow, using your own OpenAI key.
Which is cheaper?
For rendering alone, Creatomate’s credits can cost less. Videngine’s price includes script writing, voice, captions and review, which you would otherwise build and pay for separately. Compare the total, not the render line.
Can we move from Creatomate to Videngine?
Yes. Videngine works from your page URLs, your sitemap or the same CSV or JSON data you send Creatomate today. Your brand is set up once as tokens in the scene code.
